Masks by Morgan

I've had a mask fetish lately. It would be so awesome to hang these on a wall:

To see more wonderful work, visit the artist's site. She has some neat user pics from Winter Wolf Studios.

Steven Kenny

Taken from his website:

"We humans are inclined to forget or ignore the principles of existence. They include: every action directly impacts our environment, change is unavoidable, stasis is unnatural, time is beyond our influence, conception is the commencement of death as well as life, and many others. Our challenge is to humbly accept Nature’s gifts and live by the lessons set before us without imposing our arrogant will upon each other and the planet.

As humans more fully embrace technology we feel an increasing sense of anxiety, disorientation and fear. To compensate, our desire for predictability and order ignites a voracious hunger for control that induces us to force Nature to relinquish her secrets. Once a trusted provider, she is now viewed as "shifty", inadequate, and needing improvement. We manipulate our surroundings in an attempt to manage time, eliminate unforeseen change, and establish a permanent sense of stability. We go to great lengths to surround ourselves with psychological, physical, spiritual, social, and cultural environments that we hope will last. The result is an increasingly artificial existence."

Dover Publications

In a previous entry, I mentioned Dover Publications and the numerous collections of royalty free images they offer for creative use. You can sign up for weekly email samples from their website, so I save the ones I like here and there. I decided to post a few illustrations that I think would look neat in a nursery, (well, I suppose, because I don't want a nursery anytime soon,) or maybe a hallway:

Daniel Merriam

One of my all time favorite artists. I first saw his work on display at the Satori Arts Temple in Eureka Springs, Arkansas, and have been engrossed ever since.

Vintage Prints

Today I found some neat, antique Alice in Wonderland prints that I wouldn't mind ordering:

I've been really attracted to vintage prints lately. Dover Publications offers some great collections of royalty free images for creative use, but I need more time and inspiration. I have one of their Anatomical collections, and the illustrations are awesome, but I have yet to come up with anything artistic enough to print and/or frame.
